Success
Ontario Centres of Excellence's Discovery 2006 conference took the opportunity to celebrate innovation success through the Mind To Market Award. Sponsored by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Financial Group, the award recognizes outstanding research collaboration between industry and an academic research team that has resulted in successful education and commercialization. It is through such collaborations that OCE supports the development of leading edge ideas that drive industrially relevant solutions. This year's winner was Millenium Biologix Corporation and Queen’s University. With OCE support, they turned the results of research into a full slate of products that enable and promote bone repair by the patient’s own body. They established national and international collaborations both in research and marketing, and their approach to technology transfer produced an exemplary connection of university research to wealth creation in the economy.
